1978년부터 매년 케네디 센터에서 미국 문화 발전에 평생 공헌한 공연자들에게 주는 서훈. 일년에 5명(팀)씩 준다. 분야는 음악, 춤, 오페라, 영화, 연극, 연기, 연주 등인 것 같다. 서훈은 7색깔 무지개 형태의 리본으로 되어 있다. 서훈은 12월에 대통령이 직접 수여하고 축하 공연과 오찬, 만찬 등 여러 행사가 워싱턴 디시에서 주말에 열린다고 한다. 전년도 수상자들과 올해 수상자가 무지개 리본을 매고 서로 축하해 주는 모습을 보자.
